Crisis Assistance

HCCS provides many forms of crisis assistance to families and individuals in need. Assistance provided can include, but is not limited to: rent payments, prescriptions, and utility bills (gas, electric, sewer & water). Budget counseling and case management are provided as needed. Clients are treated with dignity and respect, regardless of race, color or creed. HCCS can only provide assistance once every six(6) months.

Electric Assistance is provided in part by Duke's Helping Hands and REMC's Lend a Hand programs. Both programs are funded through donations by members and employees, and distriubuted through HCCS. Duke's Helping Hands program offers additional assistance to Duke members during the winter months through the LIHEAP program, while REMC's Lend a Hand program provides additional assistance throughout the year to REMC customers.
