The Jump Start Preschool Program is provided by the Harrison County Community Foundation (HCCF) with a mission to increase the kindergarten readiness of at-risk Harrison County resident children.
A preschool environment will create an excitement for learning and assist your child with gaining the skills needed for a successful entrance into public school kindergarten the following year. Free preschool is available to those who qualify.
To pre-enroll or obtain more information please contact one of the participating providers or HCCF. Harrison County Community Services, Inc. provides income eligibility verification for HCCF.
Your child must be:
-Four (4) years old, but not yet five (5) by August 1st of the school year for which you are applying
-In financial need. Household income must be at or below the 200% Federal Povery Level (FPL).
Eligibility: Each child/family must complete income eligibility verification through Harrison County Community Services, Inc. You should be prepared to provide proof of Harrison County residency. You will also need to provide proof of income (minimum of the past 3 months). A wage inquiry may need to be obtained from WDW and a social security card and current ID would need to be provided to complete the request for the inquiry.
No appointment is necessary to complete the income verification. Come to the office during regular business hours and a caseworker will be happy to assist you.
